Established in 2015 and approved by the Civil Affairs Bureau of Shanghai Putuo District, this public welfare social organization is dedicated to special education and providing professional training and treatment to children facing challenges such as articulation dysarthria, autism, delayed language development, low learning ability, ADHD, Down's Syndrome, and more.
Our partner organization is composed of esteemed members, including the chairman of the board of directors of the American Autism Association, senior rehabilitation medicine experts, and academic leaders. Together, we strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment for these remarkable children on their path to recovery and growth.
As a volunteer, you'll be stationed at Shanghai Aixing Home Children's Rehabilitation Center, where children arrive seeking better medical treatment. Volunteers will assist with daily operations at the Children's Rehabilitation Center, such as spending time with the children, arranging games/activities, participating in activities hosted by other volunteers (art/music classes), and provide support during meal times as needed.
You will work closely with the professional team to implement specialized training programs designed to address the specific challenges each child faces, such as articulation dysarthria, autism, delayed language development, and more. Your dedication and love will create a nurturing environment, fostering a sense of belonging and security for these deserving children.
For our Volunteer Program at Shanghai Aixing Home Children's Rehabilitation Center, we highly value individuals with a diverse set of skills and qualities that can positively impact the lives of the children we serve. Preferred skills for our volunteers include:
Background in Psychology: Knowledge and understanding of child psychology, developmental disorders, and therapeutic approaches will be valuable in providing emotional support and building trust with the children.
Healing Through Art: The ability to use art as a therapeutic tool to help children express themselves, cope with emotions, and promote healing is highly appreciated.
Musical Talent: Being able to play a musical instrument can provide the children with a creative outlet, enhancing their emotional and cognitive development.
